Built on 29 years of hands-on making

Bakerite has been operating from Hillclimb Road in Westmead, Pinetown since 1997, and the team carries that history in the way we work. We do not only supply bakeware, we check how it will be used in hot ovens, busy production runs and on lines that cannot afford stoppages. That matters when a bakery is dealing with shift changes, load-shedding or moisture from a coastal store room.

The people in our workshop and office know the difference between a pan that just looks right and one that sits properly on the oven floor, stacks well and lasts through repeated heating. That practical approach is what keeps plant bakeries, retailers and hotel kitchens coming back for repairs, recoating and new manufacture.

  • Steel oven floor tiles for plant bakery use
  • Bread pans and custom trays made to size
  • Recoating, straightening and repair work
  • National supply from our Westmead base

Sibusiso Ntuli leads the business direction

Sibusiso Ntuli is the Managing Director and one of the main reasons Bakerite has stayed focused on the right kind of work for so long. He keeps the business tied to the needs of real bakery floors, where timing, fit and durability matter more than fancy talk. His experience helps guide jobs from the first call through to delivery or repair.

He understands that a bakery in Durban, Pietermaritzburg or further afield needs straight answers on lead times, repair options and what can be saved. That steady management gives customers confidence when they are planning production around tight schedules.

Operations and service keep orders moving

Priscilla Naidoo manages operations and makes sure the day runs in order, from incoming requests to finished items leaving the floor. She keeps an eye on priorities, stock movement and customer updates so the team can work without confusion. When a bakery needs a quick turnaround on a tray repair or spare lids, that organisation makes a real difference.

Lerato Mokoena looks after service coordination and customer follow-up. She helps keep repair work, assessments and collection details clear, which is important for clients who cannot afford mix-ups. In a busy plant, clear communication saves time and avoids repeat trips.

  • Pan recoating and tray recoating
  • Fleet assessment for bakery equipment
  • Deep cleaning for used bakeware
  • Spare lids supplied where needed

Production is led by people who know the metal

Themba Zulu is our Production Supervisor and oversees the day-to-day making of pans, trays and steel floor tiles. He works closely with the team to make sure each piece is formed properly and checked before it leaves the workshop. That care matters when the same tray has to handle heat, weight and constant movement every day.

Johan van Rensburg is the Fabrication Foreman and brings a practical eye to welds, corners, rims and general finish. He knows that a small fault can become a bigger problem once a bakery starts using the item in full production. His approach is careful and direct, which is exactly what this kind of work needs.

Sales and support keep the right solution coming

Ayesha Khan handles sales and works with customers who need standard items or custom sizes for specific ovens and racks. She helps with quotes, product questions and repeat orders for bakeries, retailers and hotels. Her job is not just about taking an order, it is about making sure the item suits the job in the first place.

That can mean a bread pan for daily production, a tray for a display oven, or replacement parts after years of use. When a customer calls from Westmead, New Germany or the Upper Highway, the aim is to give clear information without dragging things out.

  • Custom trays for plant bakeries and hospitality kitchens
  • Repair options for corners, rims, lids and welds
  • Advice on cleaning, care and repeat use
  • Supply into KZN and nationwide

Why the team matters on a bakery floor

Industrial bakeware is only as good as the people behind it. Our team understands how coastal humidity can affect storage, how busy shifts test equipment, and how a failed pan or bent tray can slow down an entire run. That is why we keep the work practical, careful and suited to South African conditions.

When customers deal with Bakerite, they are speaking to people who know the pressure of a production day and the value of getting things right first time. From the first enquiry to final delivery, the team works with the same aim, keep bakeries moving and keep equipment in use for as long as possible.
